in Isle of Porland in England
on Aug 19, 1923 – April 18, 2003
- Studied
mathematics & chemistry at Exeter College, Oxford.
- In
1948, in New York to work for IBM as mathematical programmer
- While
working for IBM, invented the RDBMS (Relational Database Management
System)
- Principle
for RDBMS were first outline by Dr. E. F. Codd in 1970 paper titled “A Relational Model of Data For Large
Shared Data Banks”
- Common
models were used at that time were hierarchical & networking, or even
simple flat file data structure.
- Flat File means traditional approach
which is used to store data or information.
